Welcome to Outdoor Yoga with Gem. I'm here to connect you with nature, offering yoga retreats and yoga classes in Suffolk in the beautiful setting of Rookery Meadow on the family farm, and in our serene farmhouse studio.
I am a 200-hour qualified yoga teacher, having graduated from CamYoga's Yoga Alliance certified training course and am a qualified Restorative Yoga teacher.
I found yoga over 20 years ago and loved how it made me feel in both body and mind. I now look forward to sharing my passion for yoga with you so you can discover your own benefits.
My yoga classes embrace movement, strength and mobility, sequencing postures together through flows to encourage harmony and balance in body, mind and breath.
My restorative yoga sessions hold a safe space for you to experience deep rest, stillness and calm.
Whether you are a seasoned yogi, or trying yoga for the first time, all are welcome.
We practice outside whenever we can, either under the oak trees, in meadow grass, or by the lake, making the most of the benefits that outdoor yoga brings. In winter, or on cold or rainy days, classes move inside to the farmhouse studio. I am also happy to travel to you.
Wherever we practice I try to help us remember that we are part of a bigger, beautiful world outside of ourselves and our own experience.
Looking up at the vast open skies puts problems and challenges into perspective, knitting your fingers and toes into the grass gives you a sense of being truly grounded, and feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin as you listen to the birds at the end of a yoga class is the ultimate relaxation.
Spending time in nature is well-known to be good for our mental health, boosting our mood and reducing stress, whilst yoga is increasingly recognised by health professionals for its physical and mental health benefits. Combining the two is a great way to maximise the benefits of both.
